How we source regulatory claims, and how to report an error or outdated detail.
Our source hierarchy
- Delaware DHSS / Division of Public Health / Office of Drinking Water
- Delaware DNREC
- Delaware Department of Education
- Delaware Code and Delaware Administrative Code
- U.S. EPA
- County and municipal government
- Named public water suppliers and current CCRs
- Delaware Public Health Laboratory and certified laboratories
- USGS
- Manufacturer documents, for equipment-specific maintenance only
We do not use blogs or third-party summaries as authority for regulatory requirements.
How to report a correction
Use our contact form and select "Other water-quality question," then describe the page, the specific detail you believe is incorrect or outdated, and, if you have one, a link to the current official source.
What we do with correction reports
- We review the report against the current official source.
- If an error is confirmed, we correct or temporarily unpublish the affected statement.
- We check related pages for the same error.
- We update the page's last-reviewed date and record the source and date of the change.
- If users may have relied on the error, we add a visible correction note.
Public emergencies and notices
If a local emergency notice is posted by an official source, we link directly to it rather than paraphrasing away urgent instructions, and we remove or archive the alert once it is officially lifted.
